The purpose of the water rights committee is to (1) keep the REPTL Council informed regarding surface and groundwater rights law and how that law impacts real estate ownership and transactions; (2) provide recommendations for updates or changes to real estate forms, as they relate to water rights, (3) advise the REPTL Council about legislation regarding water rights that may affect real estate ownership and transactions; and (4) provide educational outreach to other Sections of the State Bar and accredited Texas law schools regarding the Committee's role in REPTL to promote knowledge of Texas water law as it relates to Texas real estate and real property law.
